Sessional Lecturer - MMG3204H: Practical Applications of Genome Analysis

About the role

The course is structured as one two-hour session weekly for eight weeks from early September to mid-November. Most sessions will contain a combination of lecture content delivered by the instructor, guest lectures and discussion or small group work.

Responsibilities

• Inviting and coordinating guest lecture sessions
• Attending all sessions
• Preparing for lectures beforehand based on existing lecture content and assignments
• Answering student questions

Requirements

• Holding an advanced degree (MSc; MHSc; PhD) in the field of genetics, genomics, molecular biology or a related field
• Professional / work experience in the field of genome analysis and variant interpretation

Qualifications

• Evidence of expertise in human genetics and genomics
• One or more qualified referees' names

Skills

• Deep understanding of genetics and genomic methods
• Experience with available databases and literature resources

Schedule

• Alternating weeks, two hours per session
• Sessional dates of appointment: September 1 to November 1, 2026 (one term)
