Sessional Lecturer - CSC2701HY - Deploying an ML/DevOps module
About the role
The MScAc degree is intended to create technical leaders capable of transferring new ideas and technologies from academia to industry. Companies seeking to develop innovative solutions to technology-related problems face a critical need for technically sophisticated professionals who are aware of advanced research ideas and can identify commercial opportunities for such ideas. These individuals will provide the conduit between university research and the world of industry, offering substantial benefits of both.
Responsibilities
- Planning the lectures, tutorials, assignments, tests, and marking schemes associated with the module.
- Maintaining a module website.
- Delivering module material in lectures and tutorials.
- Providing appropriate contact time outside of class to students, through office hours, email, the module website and/or the module e-bulletin board.
- Assisting with preparing the breakdown of TA hours and supervising the TA(s) (if applicable).
- Managing the assessment of the module and invigilating the final exam (if applicable).
- Managing and submitting all module grades, including the timely completion and release of grades and feedback to students throughout the term.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or closely related STEM field.
- Demonstrated formal and extensive experience of career coaching of students with advanced backgrounds in STEM disciplines.
- Demonstrated superior communication skills required.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.
- Experience deploying ML pipelines in industry.
- Experience and evidence of teaching AI and Ops to students with advanced backgrounds in STEM subjects.
Qualifications

Benefits
The work the sessional will complete for each section of this course is equivalent to a 0.1 FCE load and thus the salary has been prorated here. The posted rate is the same for all sessional ranks and posted rates are inclusive of vacation pay.
Pay
$4,500 per module (per section). Each module is equivalent to a 0.1 FCE load.
Schedule
Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2026 - April 30, 2027
