About the role

You will take on a varied, exciting, and responsible position in customer service, working with a high degree of autonomy and personal responsibility. The role offers a permanent employment contract, providing job security and the opportunity to relocate to the U.S. West Coast.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and servicing of thermal process systems, both mechanically and electrically.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with electrical controls, sensors, burner controls, switchgear, and HMI systems.
• Conduct PLC diagnostics, perform basic programming in Siemens TIA Portal / STEP 7, and adjust process parameters.
• Inspect and repair heat exchangers, gas-fired burners, and smoke generators to ensure optimal system performance.
• Carry out fast and efficient on-site service calls to minimize production downtime and ensure system availability.
• Create service reports and train customer personnel in operation, cleaning (CIP), and basic troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Completed technical vocational training (e.g., mechatronics, electronics) with further education as a master craftsman, technician, or equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in industrial maintenance, system installation, or technical troubleshooting, ideally in meat processing.
• Proficiency with relevant industry standards (NFPA 70 / NEC) and practical experience in Siemens programming.
• Ability to read, understand, and implement technical drawings, circuit diagrams, and parts lists.
• High willingness to travel and excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.
• Structured, independent work style, complemented by solid MS Office skills.
