About the role
The SSD Access & Operations Student Assistant supports access and inclusion for students with disabilities at CSUSB. This role involves coordinating front office services, providing logistical support for accommodations, and ensuring a welcoming campus environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet and direct SSD students, faculty, staff, and campus guests with professionalism and care
- Provide front desk coverage, including answering the main phone line and taking detailed messages for SSD team members
- Respond to student questions and direct inquiries to the appropriate SSD staff member as needed
- Maintain SSD databases, assist with records management, and ensure that front desk systems are up to date
- Aid in providing accommodations such as Alternative Testing, Alternative Media, Cart Services, Notetaking, and Class Aide support
- Ensure the SSD front office and workspace remain clean, organized, and accessible for all users
- Participate in SSD office meetings and assist with day-to-day coordination of planned operations
- Support SSD-led campus-wide or internal events, including outreach and awareness programming
- Perform general office duties and other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position
- Admission or registration as a CSU student
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA or greater per semester and cumulative
- Enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
- Eligible to work in the United States

Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm). Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).
