ServiceNow SAM Developer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a ServiceNow SAM Developer to support a federal IT modernization initiative transitioning legacy service management processes to ServiceNow. This position is hybrid, primarily remote, with potential on-site requirements at Joint Base Andrews, MD. Candidates must be eligible to obtain a Secret security clearance. The ServiceNow SAM Developer will serve as a technical resource for Software Asset Management, developing workflows, integrations, and licensing solutions that improve asset visibility and compliance. This role will work alongside developers, architects, and process owners to translate existing processes into scalable ServiceNow capabilities. Responsibilities for the ServiceNow SAM Developer include: Configure and enhance ServiceNow SAM Pro, SaaS Management, and integrations with Hardware Asset ManagementDevelop software entitlement models, normalization rules, license reconciliation processes, and compliance reportingAutomate software requests, allocation, reclamation, renewals, and retirement using Flow Designer and scoped applicationsCreate and maintain platform functionality through Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and Service Portal componentsBuild integrations, data imports, transform maps, and scheduled jobs connecting discovery, procurement, and vendor systemsMaintain accurate asset records and CMDB relationships while developing dashboards and audit reportsSupport migration from BMC Helix/Remedy by gathering requirements and translating existing workflows into ServiceNow solutionsTest and troubleshoot enhancements, manage update sets, support platform upgrades, and document solutions for knowledge transfer Required Qualifications for the ServiceNow SAM Developer include: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, Engineering, or a related field and 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree and 6+ years; additional experience may substitute for a degree4+ years of ServiceNow development experience using JavaScript, Glide APIs, HTML, and XMLHands-on expertise with ServiceNow Software Asset Management, including software licensing, entitlements, normalization, and reconciliationExperience with Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and API integrationsKnowledge of ITAM capabilities, including SAM/HAM, and ITOM functionality such as CMDB, Discovery, and Service MappingExperience supporting enterprise ServiceNow implementations and platform governanceCurrent ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certificationCurrent CompTIA Security+ or another qualifying DoD baseline certificationStrong communication, technical documentation, and collaboration skillsMust be eligible to obtain a Secret security clearance Preferred Qualifications for the ServiceNow SAM Developer include: Master’s degree in IT or a related disciplineServiceNow Certified Application Developer or Certified Implementation Specialist in ITSMITIL 4 Foundation certificationExperience with BMC Helix or BMC RemedyFamiliarity with ServiceNow Automated Test Framework, Now Assist, or AI agents Compensation for the ServiceNow SAM Developer includes: Salary Range: $150,000–$160,000 annually, depending on experience Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Sick Leave as Required by Law This job opens for applications on 10/23/2026.
