Examples of Duties
- Fill vehicle fuel tanks; check level of various fluids and refill as needed.
- Sweep inside buses; wash exterior of vehicles; operate bus washer.
- Assist Operations with bus exchanges.
- Perform minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs and lenses, cycle wheelchair lifts, replace mirrors, and adjust belts.
- Clean and maintain work areas; scrub fuel bays; drain air tanks.
- Handle biohazards within the established organizational and safety guidelines.
Typical Qualifications
- A high school graduate or GED.
- One (1) year experience performing basic servicing and maintenance functions on vehicles or related equipment desirable; combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Skill in operating tools and equipment used in servicing diesel and automotive equipment.
- Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions followed in equipment repair shops.
- Must be able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
- Must possess (or be able to obtain within 6 months of employment) and maintain a valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License with passenger and air brake endorsements; must maintain an acceptable driving record during employment.
- Must be flexible to work any combination of days, swings, weekends, and holidays.
Supplemental Information
- Competitive salary of $27.88 - 35.90/hour.
- 23 to 36 vacation days per year, depending upon the eligibility date and length of service.
