Service Technician - Tulsa
About the role
This position is responsible for operating, repairing, and maintaining various HVAC, building control systems, and related equipment. The role requires a strong commitment to safety and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair HVAC, building control systems, and other equipment according to blueprints and engineering specifications.
- Perform preventative maintenance and replace components as needed.
- Prepare for on-site installations and repairs by examining building layouts and anticipating potential issues.
- Inspect equipment for signs of wear and tear.
- Represent the company by interacting directly with customers and managing their expectations.
- Document work through paperwork and maintain accurate records.
- Order and return parts for repairs in a timely manner.
- Read and interpret product specifications, building drawings, and design schematics.
- Work overtime, weekends, and on-call as necessary.
- Train, direct, or mentor tradesmen, apprentices, or shop technicians as needed.
Qualifications
- Completion of a five-year trade school with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning or equivalent experience.
- Completion of EPA Universal Certification and a professional license preferred (HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, etc.).
- State driver’s license, auto insurance, and auto registration.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical design schematics.
- Ability to evaluate standard technical situations and troubleshoot common operator mistakes.
- Specialty software training provided upon hire.
Skills
- Basic to advanced proficiency in specific programs and/or skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
