Service Technician - The Varsity (Student Living)

About the role

The Service Technician at The Varsity (Student Living) is responsible for completing assigned work orders, preventative maintenance, and various support tasks. This position is full-time and located in College Park, Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work orders and preventative maintenance
• Prepares vacant apartment homes for leasing and new move-ins
• Accesses and obtains materials, supplies, equipment, tools, and other items from the property’s maintenance department
• Documents and completes paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintains grounds, common areas, and amenities
• Supports cost-cutting and expense control programs
• Inspects work performed by contractors, vendors, and other service providers
• Conducts routine and periodic property inspections
• Makes improvements to efficiency and productivity
• Keeps abreast of industry changes and applies knowledge to work

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Experience in a similar role preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Basic computer skills
• First aid and CPR certification (preferred)

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $22.00 - $25.00 per hour. Additional compensation may include a quarterly or annual bonus program based on individual and company performance, and weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly bonus programs for onsite team members.

Schedule

This position requires a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
