Service Technician - Shreveport, LA
About the role
The technician position at Bruckner Truck & Equipment involves diagnosing and repairing various mechanical, electrical, and other failures of trucks and related equipment. Key responsibilities include disassembling, repairing, and reassembling truck engines, transmissions, carrier assemblies, clutches, brakes, and electrical systems. Additionally, technicians must use diagnostic tools, read technical publications, and ensure accurate and timely completion of repairs.
Responsibilities
- Use tools of trade, including precision instruments and shop machines.
- Read and understand technical publications, such as service software and service bulletins.
- Determine the usability of component parts and list and order necessary parts using the dealer management system.
- Write detailed descriptions of repairs completed using the dealer management system.
- Perform all job duties safely and in compliance with OSHA and company policies.
- Ensure punctuality and maintain a drug-free workplace.
- Pass physical and drug/alcohol screens.
- Lift up to 50 pounds to the waist and 25 pounds to the shoulder.
Requirements
- High School Diploma desired.
- Dealership experience preferred.
- Ability to operate various computer diagnostic devices, laptops, and tablets.
- Physical ability to maneuver around and under trucks for inspections and repairs.
- Pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screens.
Qualifications
Essential qualifications include certification as required by the company, the OEMs, or by federal law. Examples of skills needed include P.M. Services, Steam Clean, P.D.I. Inspections, Used Truck Inspections, Wheel Seals, Brake Adjustments, Clutch Adjustments, Pinion Seals, Foundation brake replacement, Battery diagnoses & replacement, U-joints, Shocks, Small make ready items, and more.
