Service Technician / Reefer Mechanic
Job Overview
Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Refrigeration Service Diesel Technician at our MHC Carrier location in Little Rock, Arkansas. The role of the Refrigeration Service Diesel Technician is responsible for performing all functions of a fully qualified transport refrigeration mechanic under minimal supervision.
Essential Functions
- Performs all functions of a fully qualified transport refrigeration mechanic under minimal supervision.
- Performs skilled and complicated mechanical work on transport refrigeration equipment and related components with minimum supervision.
- Performs trouble shooting on major problems.
- Works with and helps train apprentice technicians.
- Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
- Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
- Maintains favorable relations with customers.
- Masters the techniques needed to use a laptop computer to test microprocessors.
- Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications
- Minimum three years hands-on experience and on-the-job training in a related mechanical field.
- Basic understanding of how to read a wiring diagram/schematic.
- Minimum one year of diesel engine experience.
- Education - Graduate of vocational course or experience and training equivalent. 608 Certification preferred.
- Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
