Service Technician Mechanic

About the role
Hiring a Service Technician / Mechanic to support our vocational and utility equipment. You’ll work on preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and inspections of truck-mounted utility equipment including boom & bucket trucks, diggers, dump, service, forestry, and aerial cranes. Systems include diesel engines, chassis, hydraulics, electrical, and controls.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, day shift (7:00am start)
- Overtime as needed
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged or worn parts for a variety of manufacturers of utility equipment to ensure quality standards within budget.
- Troubleshoot and repair a variety of medium and heavy-duty trucks such as Freightliner, Peterbilt, and Ford.
- Provide repair and maintenance to diesel engines; a strong background in hydraulics and electrical is a plus.
- Perform maintenance and emergency repairs on fuel, brake, electrical, and transmission systems.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of parts, services, and labor to track costs and ensure proper pricing.
- Submit all work/repair orders to a supervisor for approval to maintain budgets and accurately reflect repair costs.
- Perform all duties in accordance with best practices for a safe work environment.
- Attend monthly safety meetings.
Requirements
- Experience and/or training on related equipment with heavy/light-duty trucks, diesel, refuse, construction/AG, or aircraft/GSE.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Own mechanic tools.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational Technical School or Military Wheeled Mechanic training is a plus.
