About the role

Join Massey Cadillac of South Orlando, part of the Sonic Automotive family, as an experienced Automotive GM / Cadillac Technician. You’ll work in a high‑performing service team with modern equipment, ongoing manufacturer training, and a flat‑rate pay structure.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on customer vehicles efficiently and accurately.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Complete work according to dealership and manufacturer standards.
• Accurately document repair orders and communicate findings with service advisors.
• Maintain productivity levels in a flat‑rate pay structure.
• Stay current with evolving automotive technology, including electric‑vehicle (EV) systems.
• Follow all safety protocols, especially when working with high‑voltage EV components.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Qualifications

• At least 3 + years of GM or Cadillac dealership automotive experience (flat‑rate).
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills, including electrical and drivability concerns.
• Experience with routine maintenance and complex repairs (brakes, suspension, engine, electrical systems).
• ASE certifications (A1–A8, L1, or L3) and/or manufacturer certifications.
• Experience or training in electric and hybrid vehicle systems (highly preferred).
• Ability to efficiently complete work in a flat‑rate environment and meet productivity goals.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills for diagnostics and repair documentation.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Authorization to work in the USA and ability to pass pre‑employment background checks, MVR, drug test, and driver‑license verification.

Compensation

Flat‑rate hourly rate: $30.00 – $45.00, based on qualifications.

Flat‑rate technicians are eligible for a tenure bonus after six months, paying up to $3.50 per flat‑rate hour, disbursed at year‑end.
