Service Technician II

About the role

The Service Technician II assists in the development of the Service Department by meeting all customer needs relating to electrical service.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and problem solve to determine the most efficient way to install changes to existing service
• Work alone to perform electrical work
• Determine customer needs and the most effective way to meet them, then sell the solution
• Estimate the amount of time and material to complete service tasks
• Communicate with Service Manager frequently regarding scheduling
• Work around building owners and tenants to perform jobs
• Determine what is necessary to accomplish tasks and comply with NEC standards
• Communicate with vendors, engineers, and other contractors to assure jobs are completed on schedule
• Contact customers to set appointments
• Strive at all times to meet budget
• Be on call 24/7 for 2 weeks every 3 months
• Properly maintain company vehicle
• Develop and retain client base
• Maintain daily logs and project tasking
• Communicate and reinforce goals
• Perform additional assignments as assigned
• Work 40 hours/week plus overtime when required

Requirements

• Journeyman Electrician License
• At least 4 years of experience as a Service Technician
• Experience with wiring systems and all phases of project installation
• Experience with electrical control work and troubleshooting
• Experience purchasing electrical material and parts
• Experience in commercial, industrial, and manufacturing environments
• Assertive and proactive with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements

• Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms (electric or gas powered)
• Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, or other safe work areas
• Able to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, and attics
• Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
• Able to carry tools and materials up to 50 pounds from the ground to overhead
• Able to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overhead
• Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
• Able to get to customer job sites
