About the role
As a member of the CUC team, you will perform installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on propane fuel systems and appliances in accordance with applicable codes. You will also handle meter reading, account collections, tank maintenance, and other assigned duties.
Responsibilities
- Make installations for gas service in accordance with applicable codes.
- Set tanks according to code and properly size and install gas lines as necessary.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fuel systems and appliances.
- Make necessary connections to appliances according to code.
- Perform gas checks, pressure tests, and prepare proper documentation.
- Troubleshoot appliance and equipment malfunctions to determine problems and perform necessary repairs.
- Complete work orders, properly documenting materials used and time expended.
- Read meters, verify meter serial numbers, and record meter readings on delivery tickets.
- Return recorded readings to the office for processing.
- Collect delinquent accounts, verify customer addresses and tank serial numbers, and disconnect gas service if no arrangements can be made.
- Reconnect services and re-light appliances as required.
- Perform tank and equipment maintenance, including visual inspections per ASME and DOT regulations, leak checks, repairs, scraping, painting, and proper identification of tanks with company decals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License.
- Experience in propane preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude as determined by testing.
- Working knowledge of motor vehicles, power equipment, testing equipment, and hand tools.
- General understanding of the propane industry and all applicable codes and regulations.
- Knowledge of proper procedures for handling leak investigations and providing service repairs.
- Working knowledge of the properties of propane, propane appliances/equipment, and operating supplies.
