As a Service Technician, you’ll be at the heart of what we do: diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Caterpillar machines in the shop.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain Caterpillar engines and drive-train components, electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Perform routine and complex repairs, inspect, and maintain equipment, and rebuild components to ensure optimal performance.
- Service Air Conditioning systems.
- Maintain detailed service records.
- Collaborate with fellow technicians on complex repairs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols within the shop environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a technical school program (minimum 2 years) focused on diesel or power equipment systems
- Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on mechanical repair experience with diesel, earthmoving, or industrial equipment
Qualifications
- Proficient reading and writing skills
- Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude
- Basic computer literacy
- Familiarity with Caterpillar engine and equipment lines
- In-depth knowledge of Caterpillar equipment applications, operations, and functions
- Expertise in diagnostic, testing, adjustment, and troubleshooting procedures
- Welding experience is a plus

Physical Requirements
- Lifting/Carrying: 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50 lb. Pulling
- Standing, sitting, and climbing up and down stairs, as well as standing, sitting, and climbing into machines
- Dexterity: Normal
- Repetitive Motions: Frequent movements requiring the use of hands, wrists, and fingers
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible
