Service Technician - Building Systems & Services (BSS)

About the role

We are searching for an experienced HVAC Service Technician to support our growing service business. You’ll specialize in the start-up and service of equipment for a variety of applications, including air-conditioning, heating, ventilation, humidity control, and energy management. This role services our Wilmington, Philadelphia, King of Prussia, and South NJ areas.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex HVAC and control systems, apply extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems, and test, service, and maintain these systems.
• Provide field recommendations for retrofits, upgrades, or enhancements to existing equipment.
• Assist sales by providing technical recommendations for sales leads.
• Interface with Service Manager, Project Manager, or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities.
• Provide sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings.
• May assist with job layouts and bid proposals.
• Perform start-up and train customers in HVAC equipment and control systems operations.
• In addition to mechanical system start-up, set up configurable controllers and complete manufacturer and all BSS job-specific documentation, then submit to the office.
• Use manufacturer/vendor websites and catalogs to find technical documentation and replacement parts stock numbers, as well as advise customers on substitution or modification of replacement parts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of increasingly responsible experience in servicing HVAC systems.
• Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
• Participate in on-call rotation as necessary.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• HVAC Journeyman Certificate (preferred).
• NATE certification (preferred).
• EPA Refrigeration License.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Passing criminal background checks and drug testing required for BSS and customer jobsites.
