Service Technician

Diagnose, maintain, and repair customer vehicles while collaborating with the parts department and communicating effectively with both team members and customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of any additional service needs.
• Provide estimates of time needed for additional repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience as an auto technician.
• Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance.
• Fast, eager learner and team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills and computer proficiency.
• Willingness to learn new problems and operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

• Medium to heavy physical intensity: sitting, standing, walking for long periods.
• Visual acuity for color, depth perception, and field of vision necessary to drive vehicles safely.
• Constant: reaching, sitting, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing.
• Frequent: repetitive motion.
• Occasional: balancing, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 100 lbs.

Physical Working Conditions

• Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including temperature changes and weather.
• Slightly elevated ambient noise levels.
• Minor potential physical hazards from electrical, mechanical, and cleaning equipment.
• Exposure to fumes, odors, and dusts associated with auto dealership operations.
