Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
- Test drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of any additional service needs.
- Provide estimates of time needed for additional repairs.
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience as an auto technician.
- Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance.
- Fast, eager learner and team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills and computer proficiency.
- Willingness to learn new problems and operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
- Medium to heavy physical intensity: sitting, standing, walking for long periods.
- Visual acuity for color, depth perception, and field of vision necessary to drive vehicles safely.
- Constant: reaching, sitting, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing.
- Frequent: repetitive motion.
- Occasional: balancing, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 100 lbs.
Physical Working Conditions
- Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including temperature changes and weather.
- Slightly elevated ambient noise levels.
- Minor potential physical hazards from electrical, mechanical, and cleaning equipment.
- Exposure to fumes, odors, and dusts associated with auto dealership operations.
