About the role
The Propane Service Apprentice position at Paraco is an entry-level opportunity designed to teach all necessary functions and skills to become an experienced technician. This role involves learning from experienced technicians and performing various tasks such as equipment service, piping installations, and heating and cooling equipment installs.
Responsibilities
- Attend introductory training sessions covering Hazmat OSHA and Basic CETP Principals.
- Work alongside technicians in the field, assisting with equipment service, piping installations, and heating and cooling equipment installs.
- Learn how to perform safety checks, leak and pressure tests, and appliance servicing.
- Install, maintain, and service oil/natural gas/propane/electric appliances.
- Operate a crane and dolly to maneuver tanks.
- Inspect and repair equipment at customer sites.
- Perform duties safely and efficiently, adhering to federal, state, and local guidelines and codes.
- Assist with warehouse/inventory support as needed.
Requirements
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
- Experience with hand tools, electrical, plumbing, general maintenance, or carpentry.
- The ability to lift or move objects of heavyweight.
- A willingness to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions.
- The ability to drive a vehicle, a Commercial Drivers' License is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- An enthusiasm for learning and growing fieldwork skills.
- A clean, safe, and responsible driving history.
- A desire and motivation to learn and grow to expand fieldwork skills.
