Service Technician Apprentice
About the role
The Propane Service Apprentice position at Paraco is an entry-level opportunity designed to equip individuals with the skills necessary to become a Service Technician. This role involves learning various aspects of propane service, installation, and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Attend introductory training sessions covering Hazmat OSHA and Basic CETP Principles
- Work alongside experienced technicians in the field, assisting with equipment service, piping installations, and heating and cooling equipment installs
- Learn how to perform safety checks, leak and pressure tests, and appliance servicing
- Install, maintain, and service oil/natural gas/propane/electric appliances
- Operate a crane and dolly to maneuver tanks
- Inspect and repair equipment at customer sites
- Perform duties safely and efficiently, adhering to federal, state, and local guidelines and codes
- Contribute to warehouse/inventory support as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Experience with hand tools, electrical, plumbing, general maintenance, or carpentry
- The ability to lift or move objects of heavyweight
- A willingness to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions
- The ability to drive a commercial vehicle (CDL)
- A clean, safe, and responsible driving history
- A desire and motivation to learn and grow to expand fieldwork skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, ensuring each customer interaction is positive
Preferred Skills
- Technical School for HVAC or Propane
- A desire and motivation to learn and grow to expand fieldwork skills
- A clean, safe, and responsible driving history
- A Commercial Drivers' License is preferred
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
