Service Technician Apprentice

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in assembling, installing, servicing and repairing customer heating, air conditioning and other HVAC equipment.
• Retrofit installations, ductwork, refrigeration piping, and wiring.
• Installation and change-outs of ductwork on commercial buildings.
• Maintain safe work practices in support of OSHA Health & Safety and NFPA 70e standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Entry level experience in maintaining and working with HVAC equipment.
• Strong oral and written communication required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with supervision in isolated areas.
• Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments.
• Valid Vehicle Operators license.
• Ability to stand, sit or squat for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift, move and carry material up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work at extended heights.
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Working knowledge of desktop computers and Internet based programs to perform required annual training.
• Ability to wear a company uniform and maintain a neat personal appearance.

Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of $25 - $35 per hour, determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and rate sheet, along with benefits provided through local labor unions aligned with the collective bargaining agreement.
