Service Technician - 505 Summit

About the role

Greystar is a leading real estate platform offering property management, investment management, development, and construction services in institutional-quality rental housing. The Service Technician position is located in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work orders and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Prepares vacant apartment homes for leasing and new move-ins by completing the make-ready process.
• Accesses and returns materials, supplies, equipment, tools, and other items from the maintenance department.
• Documents and completes paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintains grounds, common areas, and amenities by performing tasks such as picking up trash, pressure-washing, cleaning, and painting.
• Supports cost-cutting and expense control programs by fixing rather than replacing parts and practicing proper tool usage.

Other Responsibilities

• Complies with safety and risk-management policies by attending safety meetings, completing required training, and reporting accidents and incidents.
• Periodically inspects work performed by contractors, vendors, and other service providers to ensure quality standards are met.
• Assists in conducting routine and periodic property inspections to identify safety and repair needs.

Physical Demands

• Standing, walking, sitting for extended periods, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, reaching, carrying objects, and crawling in confined areas.
• Working inside and outside in all weather conditions.
• Pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, or maneuvering weights of up to 25 pounds independently and 50 pounds with assistance.
• Rare or regular travel may be required for assisting other properties, attending training classes, or business meetings.
• Flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required Licenses or Certifications

• EPA certifications Type 1 and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling (for Certified Service Technicians).
• All certifications as required by State and Local jurisdictions (for all Service Technicians).
• Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on property, if applicable.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $23-$25.
