About the Role

Provides services by performing a variety of duties such as maintaining floors in a clean and sanitary condition, distributing supplies and linen, operating equipment, and performing projects including room setups. Cross-trained to meet department demands and deliver quality service through strong customer relations with patients, visitors, and employees.

Responsibilities

• Complete major floor cleaning tasks including stripping, refinishing, shower scrubbing, shampooing, extracting, and burnishing.
• Operate and maintain automatic floor machines, burnishers, extractors, and other floor care equipment.
• Perform department functions such as linen distribution, trash pickup, stocking and distributing supplies, handling confidential containers, and assisting with traction devices.
• Complete special projects including changing curtains, washing windows and walls, moving furniture, organizing storage areas, and other miscellaneous tasks.
• Maintain cleaning supplies, equipment, and environmental closets in a clean and organized manner; clean equipment after use and ensure it remains in good repair.
• Demonstrate professional behavior by following leadership instructions, participating in training, and adhering to department attendance and performance improvement policies.
• Adhere to safety and infection control policies, including OSHA requirements, proper chemical handling, PPE usage, hand-washing techniques, isolation procedures, safe waste handling, and emergency response protocols.

Requirements

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Basic reading, writing, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to operate power equipment.
• Prior knowledge and operation of floor care equipment preferred.
• Regular use of machinery/equipment including automatic floor machines, battery/cord burnishers, battery/cord extractors, rotary floor machines, riding floor scrubbers, and riding vacuums.

Minimum fit testing and DOT training may be required but will be provided upon hire as needed.
