About the role
This position provides services by performing various duties such as maintaining floors in a clean and sanitary condition, distributing supplies and linen, operating various equipment, and completing projects.
Responsibilities
- Completes major floor cleaning tasks including stripping and refinishing, shower scrubbing, shampoo, extract, and burnishing.
- Operates and maintains automatic floor machines, burnishers, extractors, and other floor care equipment.
- Performs other department functions such as linen distribution, trash pick-up, stocking & distributing supplies, picking up and removing confidential containers, and assisting with taking apart traction devices.
- Completes other special projects as assigned, including changing curtains, washing windows, washing walls, moving furniture, organizing storage areas, and miscellaneous projects.
- Maintains all cleaning supplies, equipment, and environmental closets in a clean and organized manner.
- Clean all equipment after use and maintain in good repair.
- Demonstrate professional behavior and adhere to the department's goals by following instructions from leadership, participating in training, and adhering to the department's attendance policy.
- Complete duties and responsibilities adhering to all safety and infection control policies, procedures, and practices, including OSHA safety requirements, correct chemical mixing and usage, PPE, proper hand-washing techniques, isolation procedures, safe waste handling, and knowing emergency codes and responses.
Qualifications
- Minimum FIT testing may be required, but provided upon hire as needed.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Basic reading, writing, and effective communication skills.
- Ability to operate power equipment.
- Prior knowledge and operation of floor care equipment preferred.
- The following machinery/equipment is used on a regular basis: automatic floor machine, battery burnisher, cord burnisher, battery extractor, cord extractor, rotary floor machine, riding floor scrubber, and riding vacuum.
- DOT training may be required, but provided upon hire as needed.
