Service Support Manager-Earth Moving Solutions

About the role

Sunbelt Rentals—the fastest growing rental business in North America—is seeking a Service Support Manager. In this role, you will oversee two direct reports: the Parts Manager and the Administrative Assistant. You will collaborate closely with the Service Manager (who manages the shop and yard foreman) but report directly to the PCM, with authority to make purchasing and other business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fleet files and DOT compliance for both Rental and Non-Rental Fleet.
• Schedule PM and DOT inspections on both Rental and Non-Rental Fleet (e.g., trucks).
• Perform Safety Coordinator responsibilities related to the DOT Fleet.
• Manage the Parts Manager, including approving parts purchasing and ordering.
• Conduct Driver Operational Safety (DOS) meetings with drivers monthly.
• Oversee the warranty recovery process.
• Review closed work orders to ensure warranty opportunities are not missed.
• Catalog warranty parts for validation upon manufacturer’s request.
• Maintain compliance with manufacturers' issued service bulletins.
• Manage the customer damage process, including preparing and sending damage letters to customers and maintaining photographic/physical evidence.
• Direct the supply of parts to shop mechanics, other branches, and customers.
• Screen and prioritize service calls to meet customer needs.
• Work with equipment vendors to learn maintenance requirements and capabilities of new equipment added to inventory.
• Train shop foremen on new equipment.
• Collaborate with the Service Manager and Shop Foreman to schedule factory training and technical diagnosis on equipment.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Extensive experience in the repair and maintenance of AWP (Aerial Work Platform) equipment.
• Knowledge of work planning, scheduling, and other supervisory activities.
• Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements.
• Clear perspective on maintenance and repair issues in the industry.
• Planning and management experience.
• Computer literacy.
• Reporting and warranty management experience.
• Inventory and parts management experience.

The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors as required by the job.

Pay

Base pay range: $53,489.00 – $73,547.10. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
