About the Role

The Service Supervisor oversees the daily operation of service repairs performed on internal and external equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer requests for service to determine the cause, type of malfunction, and customer address.
  • Determine staff hours, personnel, parts, and equipment required for service calls using product knowledge and service procedures.
  • Prepare schedules for service personnel, assigning tasks based on workers' knowledge, experience, and capabilities.
  • Arrange transportation of machines and equipment to and from customer locations for repairs.
  • Finalize invoicing, review work hours, parts utilized, and work performed for each service call.
  • Requisition replacement parts and supplies.
  • Counsel employees on work-related issues and assist in correcting job-skill deficiencies.
  • Monitor employees’ work levels and review performance.
  • Patrol and monitor work areas to detect unsafe conditions or violations of safety rules.
  • Investigate accidents and injuries, preparing reports of findings.
  • Compile operational and personnel records, including time, production, inventory, repair, maintenance statistics, and test results.
  • Communicate with customers regarding repair status and potential charges.
  • Prepare and present service repair estimates.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2-year Technical Degree with emphasis on Diesel Engine or Earthmoving Repair (required).
  • 3-7 years of heavy-duty or diesel engine service experience.
  • 5+ years in supervision, preferably supervising technicians.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other business software applications.
