Service Shop Manager
About the role
Vander Haag's is looking for a Service Shop Manager to lead our diesel service operation in Spencer, Iowa. We're seeking a leader who can run a business, manage a team, serve customers, and drive results while remaining hands-on in the shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of diesel technicians
- Manage workflow, staffing, and shop productivity
- Build strong relationships with customers
- Drive quality, efficiency, and profitability
- Recruit and develop skilled personnel
- Collaborate with Parts, Sales, and other Vander Haag’s departments and locations
- Foster a shop culture of accountability and pride in work
Requirements
We welcome candidates from various backgrounds, including Service Managers, Shop Foremen, Fleet Maintenance Managers, Lead Technicians, Service Advisors, or operations leaders ready for a larger role. Ideal candidates will:
- Have a strong understanding of the heavy-duty truck industry to earn the respect of experienced technicians
- Possess leadership skills focused on people and business

Schedule
Day shift hours, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM. No evenings, weekends, holidays, or on-call hours required.
Pay
This position offers a base wage plus a semiannual bonus, with total compensation ranging from $90,000 to $105,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
