About the role

The Service Project Manager will manage all aspects of our Service Turnkey and Large Repair projects in the South Dakota and Northern IA markets. They will have direct responsibility for project financials, administration, implementation, management, and customer satisfaction. They will lead the project team through all facets of the project and is the established point of contact for stakeholders, supporting project development efforts to scope total solutions. This is an on-site role (5 days a week) based in Sioux Falls, SD.

Responsibilities

  • Support sales functions by assisting with quote preparation, project development, and proposals.
  • Validate project scope, cost, and schedule by conducting site walks, attending pre-sales scoping meetings with account managers, holding internal meetings, and establishing clear customer expectations.
  • Responsible for change order management by identifying opportunities, recommending solutions, facilitating quotes, utilizing pricing strategies, and closing orders to provide total solutions across business streams.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by supporting company initiatives, building customer relationships, investigating concerns, implementing corrective actions, and developing communication plans with both internal and external stakeholders to provide timely project updates.
  • Utilize properly qualified subcontractors, oversee the subcontractor RFQ process, award subcontracts, manage subcontractor execution, and collaborate with subcontractors to establish communication guidelines for project progress, meetings, billing expectations, project safety, and professional relationships.
  • Financially manage all aspects of projects including cash flow, monthly forecasted cost/revenue, forecasted cost at completion, monitoring expenses, collections support, applied cost, and oversee preparation and communications for monthly backlog review with leaders.
  • Create and maintain project schedules to determine resource timing, coordinate with all subcontractors, technician teams, and external customer stakeholders to validate schedule, impact of work, timing of subcontracted scope, and access needs while on-site.
  • Lead all aspects of project administration including permit acquisition, subcontract submission and procurement, material acquisition, quote solicitation, scope change management, billing schedules, contract document management, and regulatory compliance documentation.

Requirements

  • Advanced understanding of HVAC retrofit, modification, repair, and replacement projects in a Commercial/Industrial environment.
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership skills, ability to convey technical concepts to the right audience at the right level of detail, organizational expertise, strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to successfully lead a project team.

Qualifications

  • Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Project Management Degree OR
  • Combination of associate’s degree + 5-8 years’ experience managing commercial HVAC Service Projects.
  • Experience with Project Schedules/PM Software.

Pay

Annual base salary range: $98,926.66 - $126,200.00. This is a salaried position with incentive eligibility. The actual compensation will depend on factors such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.
