Service Porter

About the role

The Service Porter helps ensure complete customer satisfaction by greeting customers, moving vehicles in and around the service area/lot, maintaining the cleanliness of vehicles and the service area, delivering vehicles to customers after service is complete, and transporting customers to/from their home when needed. The ideal candidate has a high energy level, a desire to work in a fast-paced environment, a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, and some related experience.

Candidates must be able to drive both manual and automatic transmissions, work productively in a fast-paced team environment, maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance, demonstrate great communication skills, and deliver world-class customer service.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes customers to the service department and attends to their needs
• Drives vehicles to and from service areas and lot as needed
• Installs protective coverings (seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, etc.) and tags in all vehicles brought in for service
• Disinfects each vehicle coming and leaving the dealership
• Follows all safety and security procedures
• Washes and cleans vehicles as needed
• Helps maintain the appearance of the service drive by cleaning driveway, removing dust and debris as necessary
• Helps maintain shop cleanliness, including windows, doors, floors, etc.
• Transports customers to and from their home when needed and requested
• Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required
• Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
• Must be able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
• Must be able to operate motor vehicles in tight and small spaces
• Highly professional and dependable
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good computer and internet skills

Experience in a similar role is a plus.

Monday - Friday, 7:30AM - 4:30PM or 8:30AM - 5:30PM
