Service Plumber

Description

The Service Plumber role at RK Industries is ideal for a hands-on professional with expertise in diagnosing and repairing plumbing and hydronic systems. Key responsibilities include running maintenance, starting-up equipment, conducting quality checks, troubleshooting complex issues, and mentoring technicians. The position operates within a safety-first culture with weekly pay and robust training support.

Position Summary

The Service Plumber is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a broad spectrum of plumbing and hydronic systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Duties encompass servicing plumbing and hydronic piping, water heaters, boilers, and pumps; performing scheduled maintenance tasks; and completing equipment start-ups. The role also involves conducting quality control inspections, identifying technical issues, and applying effective solutions while maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Role Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair plumbing and hydronic piping, water heaters, boilers, and pumps.
• Perform scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Complete equipment start-ups.
• Conduct quality control inspections.
• Technical trouble shooting and diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Guide field staff in properly completing specialized forms and assisting in providing paperwork to necessary departments.
• Carry out owner training as required.
• Daily coordination with the Customer Services department.
• Make service-related decisions in the best interest of the company.
• Follow up on callbacks and job completions.
• Call for inspections when needed or required, meet with inspectors, and ensure job compliance.
• Assist in the training of RK Mechanical Service technicians.
• Assist in pricing with Account Managers or Service Writers when required.
• Develop lead referrals resulting from service activities for the Sales Department or Service Writer.
• Guide field staff in executing any or all of the tasks listed above.
• Perform any other reasonable tasks as requested.

Minimum Physical Requirements

• Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy, and hazardous areas.
• Work in high places, tight spaces, confined spaces, and/or other adverse locations.
• Climb, balance, squat, kneel, and crouch.
• Work in all types of weather.
• Have a working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
• Be able to lift and carry 51 to 75 lbs. occasionally, and/or 31 to 45 lbs. frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 16 to 22 lbs. constantly to move objects.
