Service Planner/Scheduler I Fixed Route
This position is open internally and externally and is a Non-Exempt role represented by Laborers International Union of North America, Local 808 (LIUNA Local 808). All applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) selection criteria will apply when considering internal applicants.
About the role
Under general direction of the Executive Director of Service Planning and Scheduling, the Service Planner/Scheduler I is responsible for assisting the Service Planning Team with technical preparation and development of fixed route services. Provides assistance with the development, design, scheduling, analysis, and implementation of RIPTA’s Family of Fixed Route and Flexible Services.
Responsibilities
- Assists in technical daily scheduling tasks leading up to the implementation of contractual schedules and service changes.
- Works in a team-oriented environment assisting in executing fixed route service plans.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of Service Guidelines and Service Planning Principles adopted by RIPTA.
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills and engages in pursuing solutions for positive outcomes.
- Attends meetings and public hearings related to new service enhancements, service adjustments, and/or discontinued services.
- Communicates service adjustments to the RIPTA Marketing Department.
- Assists with responses to customer inquiries and attends public meetings and workshops as needed.
- Meets with Service Planning’s On-call Consultants as needed.
- Works as an active member of the Service Review Committee assisting in maintaining communication between Service Planning, the Transportation Department, and Representatives from Amalgamated Transit Union Local 618 (ATU 618).
- Works actively with RIPTA’s Data Team.
- Attends meetings with municipal and state departments.
- Assists in the daily activities of the Scheduling Department as assigned.
Pay
Salary range: $59,997.69 to $74,997.11 per annum (Pay Grade 127).
