Position Summary
Fabricates service parts ensuring that the end product conforms to requirements identified on the work order, customer blueprint and/or specifications.
Primary Responsibilities
- Works with Team Leader and Business Unit Managers to gain experience on all fabricating processes used to produce service parts.
- Operate machinery in a safe, productive and quality manner ensuring parts are built to the manufacturing plans.
- Maintains accurate records of all time and expenses incurred in the fabrication of each service order.
- Performs required inspections of conformity according to our work instructions and BTO processes and immediately notifies Team Leader or Business Unit Managers of any concerns or discrepancies.
- Processes orders and set up jobs with minimal supervision.
- Must operate in a manner that reinforces, supports, and is consistent with the Cooper Standard Code of Conduct.
- Ensures 6S, housekeeping and health and safety standards are maintained.
- May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.
Education And Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical Training and Certification is preferred.
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
- Fabrication, blueprint reading skills, and equipment knowledge.
- Working knowledge of fabrication equipment preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis.
Work Environment/Work Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with long periods of standing.
- Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor including safety shoes and safety glasses.
- Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury.
