Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of students, faculty, staff, and guests of the University community.
• Patrol interior and exterior of academic and administrative buildings and campus property to deter crime.
• Maintain knowledge of buildings, fire alarm panels, intrusion alarms, and locking procedures.
• Respond to incidents, including accidents, illnesses, requests for assistance, walking safety escorts, and medical escorts.
• Provide security at special events, athletic events, and health clinics.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the Emergency Communications Center and activate the Emergency Notification System as needed.
• Patrol parking lots and the parking garage, inspect vehicles for parking decals, issue parking tickets, and tow violators when appropriate.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Good moral character; must pass a background investigation, including criminal record check, driving record, and drug screen.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to uphold human dignity and respect by valuing diverse perspectives and treating others with kindness, fairness, and empathy.
• Ability to respect, support, and contribute to the University’s Catholic and Jesuit mission.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior security experience.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
• Full-time, 10-month annual schedule.
