About the role
As a Service Manager at Truck Centers, Inc., you will lead a dedicated team of technicians and office staff, ensuring every customer receives top-tier service throughout the repair process. This position offers relocation assistance.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of the service department to keep things running efficiently.
- Oversee department payroll and ensure accuracy in timekeeping.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and OEM standards.
- Maintain the condition of shop tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Coach, mentor, and develop the team through bi-weekly team huddles, onboarding, training, and development plans.
- Handle performance reviews, attendance management, and team accountability.
- Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and professional communication with every customer, resolving service concerns promptly and professionally, and collaborating with Parts and Sales to provide a seamless customer experience.
- Oversee warranty and policy claim processes and serve as a liaison with factory reps.
- Build relationships with current and prospective customers through regular visits.
- Optimize processes and efficiency by evaluating and improving workflow and repair cycle times, partnering with the Continuous Improvement Coordinator (CIC), conducting market research, and ensuring safety standards and compliance procedures are always met.
- Contribute to business growth by setting and achieving monthly service goals, supporting Elite Support initiatives, participating in the Change Management Team (CMT), staying current on OEM updates, industry trends, and training opportunities, and looking for ways to grow service offerings and customer base.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience leading large groups or departments, transportation or dealership experience preferred.
- Proven coaching and leadership of large, diverse teams to foster collaboration, personal and professional development.
- Strong knowledge of truck systems, parts, and dealership operations.
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing budgets, analyzing data, and driving efficiency.
- Proficiency with computers, tablets, and MS Office.
- Valid driver's license with ability to meet insurance requirements.
- Willingness to participate in a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Qualifications
- Freightliner dealership experience.
- CIC Level I or II training.
- Kaizen and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification (preferred).
