Service Manager

About the role

The Service Manager will oversee and direct the flow of all scheduled work in the shop using Shop Monkey, implement and execute company procedures and policies, and ensure adherence to all shop safety procedures for team members and customers.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily shop operations and workflow using Shop Monkey.
• Implement and enforce company procedures, policies, and safety guidelines (e.g., PPE, torque procedures, lifting procedures).
• Train, coach, and manage shop technicians to ensure consistent adherence to procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform daily inspections of shop tools and equipment; schedule maintenance for broken or unsafe equipment and communicate needs to store management.
• Review and maintain Shop Monkey documentation standards; ensure technicians complete all required fields.
• Enforce TIA, ALI, and company guidelines in the shop.
• Conduct technician first torque procedures and perform secondary torque verification on all vehicles.
• Verify completion of required documentation after technician torque procedures.
• Order products for services and installs via 1st Call and vendors (excluding store stock items).
• Complete and maintain the shop work schedule for staff.
• Assist in hiring, recruiting, and training of shop personnel.
• Receive service-related products ordered for installs.
• Assist management with return-to-vendor (RTV) paperwork.
• Maintain a binder for customer special orders (e.g., center caps, wheel replacements).
• Complete weekly truck maintenance and inspections in Shop Monkey and address issues with management.
• Participate in monthly safety audits.
• Perform daily equipment calibration and safety inspections.
• Oversee daily shop cleaning schedule.
• Manage customer returns by ensuring they are cleaned, labeled, and prepared for sale.
• Perform other duties as requested by store management.
