Service Manager

About the role

The Service Manager oversees all shop operations, directing the flow of scheduled work through the Shop Monkey management system. This role implements and executes company procedures and policies, ensures shop safety compliance, and directly instructs, coaches, trains, and manages shop technicians to maintain consistent procedures and a clean, safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily inspection of shop tools and equipment; schedule maintenance for missing or broken equipment and communicate needs to store management.
• Review and maintain proper Shop Monkey procedures; ensure technicians document all required fields.
• Implement and execute TIA, ALI, and company guidelines pertaining to the shop.
• Enforce all company PPE and safety policies (safety glasses, gloves, torque procedures, lifting procedures).
• Oversee technician first torque and perform manager secondary torque on all vehicles; verify completion after technician first torque.
• Order product as needed through 1st Call and vendors for services and installs (excluding store stock orders).
• Complete shop work schedule for staff.
• Assist in hiring and recruiting of shop personnel.
• Responsible for training of all shop technicians.
• Receive service-related product ordered for installs.
• Assist management with return-to-vendor paperwork (RTVs).
• Maintain and oversee binder for customer special orders (e.g., center caps, wheel replacements).
• Complete weekly company truck maintenance and inspections in Shop Monkey; address issues with management.
• Assist in monthly safety audit.
• Complete daily equipment calibration and safety inspections.
• Maintain daily shop cleaning schedule.
• Ensure customer returns are effectively managed, cleaned, labeled, and prepared for sale.
• Perform any other items deemed necessary by the store management team.
