Responsibilities
- Manage the training and development of the service technicians to include but not limited to: on-the-job training, cross-training coverage, safe work habits, and good housekeeping
- Identify, develop, and implement process improvements and changes in equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes supporting cost and quality efficiencies
- Approve time/absence reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, etc.
- Work closely with management and Human Resources on annual reviews, pay raises, attendance, rewards, discipline and any other personnel issues that may arise
- Guide / lead / teach technicians to conduct thorough diagnostics to identify equipment and component issues/problems/root cause/proposed fixes and repair/recondition work scopes
- Ensure the maintenance of detailed records of work performed, parts used, and other relevant information. Utilize OTC documentation and communication tools and process
- Responsible for working with Sales and Operations, at all levels. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to explain repair processes, provide estimates, and address any questions or concerns
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations
- Travel to job sites with potential overnight stay depending on customer and project needs
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required. Technical degree or certification preferred
- 5+ years of experience in repair/service of rotating equipment, pumps and motors
- 5+ years of leadership experience preferred
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs
- Prolonged standing and working in a shop environment
- Exposure to noise, grease, and industrial conditions
- Ability to travel out of state with overnight stay
- Valid drivers license
