Service Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage the training and development of the service technicians to include but not limited to: on-the-job training, cross-training coverage, safe work habits, and good housekeeping
• Identify, develop, and implement process improvements and changes in equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes supporting cost and quality efficiencies
• Approve time/absence reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, etc.
• Work closely with management and Human Resources on annual reviews, pay raises, attendance, rewards, discipline and any other personnel issues that may arise
• Guide / lead / teach technicians to conduct thorough diagnostics to identify equipment and component issues/problems/root cause/proposed fixes and repair/recondition work scopes
• Ensure the maintenance of detailed records of work performed, parts used, and other relevant information. Utilize OTC documentation and communication tools and process
• Responsible for working with Sales and Operations, at all levels. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to explain repair processes, provide estimates, and address any questions or concerns
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations
• Travel to job sites with potential overnight stay depending on customer and project needs

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required. Technical degree or certification preferred
• 5+ years of experience in repair/service of rotating equipment, pumps and motors
• 5+ years of leadership experience preferred
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs
• Prolonged standing and working in a shop environment
• Exposure to noise, grease, and industrial conditions
• Ability to travel out of state with overnight stay
• Valid drivers license
