Responsibilities

• Maintains a positive attitude and creates a friendly atmosphere through flexibility and teamwork.
• Encourages employees to greet and speak to customers and provides prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
• Greets customers with a smile and uses their names when possible.
• Assists customers with tasks such as escorting them to products, securing items, loading/unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions.
• Answers the phone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service.
• Supervises and coordinates activities of employees in all areas of the store, including Department Managers.
• Trains and enforces safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
• Ensures compliance with store policies and procedures.
• Manages work schedules and assigns duties to employees.
• Trains workers in store policies, department procedures, and job duties.
• Sells merchandise to employees and customers, handles cash registers, and recommends cost reduction programs.
• Reviews personnel records and understands payroll systems.
• Orders merchandise and ensures quality control.
• Trains workers in store services and explains store services to potential customers.
• Reports to work on time and when scheduled.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years or more of similar or related work experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to interview and guide people.
• Ability to follow technical manuals and have increased contact with people.

Pay

The anticipated hourly starting wage for this position is $16.50 to $20.60 depending on experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with varying hours based on store needs.
