Service Manager

Daily Duties

• Manages monthly parts/shop supplies budget, ensuring it does not exceed 10% of rental revenue.
• Prevents equipment from exceeding 1% of investment at any time through a preventative maintenance program.
• Reviews maintenance records to schedule recommended service intervals and reviews status with the branch manager monthly.
• Establishes and maintains service records for all equipment within the rental fleet, ensuring 100% documentation for assets over $5000.
• Processes and recovers all recoverable warranty claims in a timely manner.
• Completes and enters all work orders into the system daily.
• Completes estimates for suspected customer damage within 48 hours of identification.
• Invoices customers immediately upon approval of the Rental Manager.
• Logs and tracks all field service calls, ensuring no more than 2 hours pass between customer call and mechanic arrival.
• Sends operator’s manuals with 100% of required machines.
• Ensures all applicable “rental ready” machines have current inspections and certifications.
• Maintains the shop area to OSHA standards and ensures at least 80% of units are on the ready line.
• Completes all management requests, special assignments, or projects within specified timeframes.

Technical

• Has specific brand training on fleet equipment.
• Teaches other mechanics how to maintain and repair equipment.
• Establishes and maintains maintenance and repair standards for each piece of rental equipment.

Position Profile

Candidates must have great people skills, an enthusiastic personality, proven communication abilities, and the ability to teach mechanical techniques. Additionally, they need sound organizational skills to coordinate programs and logistics, and mechanical aptitude is required.
