About the role
The Service Manager supports and leads a branch's technicians, enforcing company policies and assisting the District/Branch Manager in policy adherence and tracking.
Responsibilities
- Support technicians with installations, maintenance, repairs, and emergency visits.
- Provide coaching and training on products, procedures, service techniques, and customer service.
- Meet or exceed customer satisfaction goals.
- Talent development and increasing employee retention and engagement.
- Supervise and manage a cost center with 8-15 direct reports.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience, or 1-3 years of experience with a degree.
- Previous management experience.
- Knowledge of annual operating plans, profit and loss statements, cost control, inventory management, and customer-facing metrics.
- Commercial food equipment service/product knowledge.
- Mechanical aptitude.
Qualifications
- Intermediate knowledge of financial drivers and accounting.
- Proven selling and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership, innovation, safety, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb up to 10 ft, and operate machinery and power tools.
- Physical demands include extensive walking, driving, kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing/pulling, and moving in different positions.
- Work environment includes office and customer facilities, exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery, wet, and dirty conditions.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs.
- Collects and researches data, designs workflows and procedures, and drives local service priorities.
- Displays original thinking and creativity, generates suggestions for improvement, and develops innovative approaches and ideas.
- Meets challenges with resourcefulness, demonstrates knowledge in client interviewing, sales, cross-selling, consultative sales, proposals preparation, and presentations.
- Reads and understands safety guidelines, drives a culture of safety and wellness, and demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of company products and services.
- Prioritizes regular workload, special tasks, and concurrent projects, allocates time and resources, and ensures accurate and efficient completion within established time frames.
- Communicates orally with individuals from within and outside the organization, demonstrates crisis/conflict resolution skills, and thrives in a multi-tasking environment.
- Represents Hobart Service within the community and recognizes unusual or emergency situations and takes appropriate actions.
