Service Manager - Alvarado, TX
About the role
The Service Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and profitable operation of the department. They advise and make recommendations to management on the best interests of the Service Department while aligning with overall dealership objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and follow an annual service budget based on labor hours attainable and measurable, aligned with overall financial and operational goals.
- Maintain and adhere to a priority system for scheduling all Service work, ensuring efficient use of time.
- Ensure all required manufacturer warranty, safety, emission, and product improvement programs are completed in a timely manner.
- Periodically visit primary customers to monitor customer relations and evaluate service needs, problems, and satisfaction.
- Evaluate the performance of the Service Department and employees through general observations and use of time management labor reports.
- Coordinate Dealership technical programs and service-related training sessions.
- Maintain shop tools and service equipment in good order and make recommendations regarding the purchases of Service vehicles to ensure a profitable operation.
- Interact positively and constructively with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Must help ensure safe working conditions for all employees.
Requirements
- A high school diploma with a continuing course in Management.
- Minimum four years as a mechanic and at least two years as a shop foreman or lead mechanic.
- Ability to read and write English, and proficiency in reading computer-generated reports, office reports, invoices, etc.
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
Qualifications
