About the Department

The Surgical Services Department at Montrose Regional Health is committed to delivering quality surgical services and improving patients' quality of life. We provide surgical services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

About the Role

The Service Line Director of Surgical Services leads strategic, growth, budgetary, and operational objectives for the Surgical Services department. This role functions as the head of the Surgical Services leadership team and coordinates the entire healthcare team within the department, including:

  • Operating room
  • Pre-op
  • Same day surgery
  • PACU
  • Pain clinic
  • Infusions
  • GI suite
  • Pre-admission testing
  • Scheduling

Responsibilities include maintaining a suitable environment for patient care, assisting staff with ethical, legal, and patient/family advocacy issues, demonstrating clinical expertise, and developing policies and procedures. The director holds staff accountable for delivering patient care aligned with the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values, as well as its strategic plan.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a registered nurse degree and a current Colorado license
  • BSN or plan to achieve preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of RN experience, preferably in an acute care or surgical services setting
  • Progressive previous management experience required
  • BLS required upon hire
  • ACLS or ENPC/PALS required within 9 months of hire and current thereafter

This role requires a broad range of nursing, psycho-social, and medical knowledge, including nursing process, communications, problem-solving, assessment, and prioritization skills.
