Service Lane Supervisor

About the Role

Under general direction, supervises a group of employees engaged in minor bus maintenance, servicing operations, and cleaning of coach interiors, seats, floors, windows, and exteriors within the Service Lane section of Maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Supervises workers engaged in servicing and cleaning buses and other automotive rolling stock.
• Reviews operations, makes work assignments, and establishes performance standards.
• Inspects work to ensure it is performed correctly and efficiently.
• Instructs subordinates in proper methods of cleaning and servicing vehicles.
• Initiates disciplinary actions and assists in the resolution of grievances.
• Evaluates employee performance.
• Keeps records and prepares routine and special reports on activities.

Requirements

• Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year high school.
• Knowledge of routine vehicle maintenance procedures.
• Mechanical knowledge, aptitude, initiative, and resourcefulness.
• Ability to perform all duties of the Coach Service Attendant classification.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License with proper endorsement within thirty (30) days of appointment.
• Tact in dealing with subordinates, peers, and managerial personnel.
• Ability to prepare reports and maintenance records.
• Ability to use a computer.
