Service Laborer

Essential Job Functions

• Aid the Operator of the backhoe or other related equipment.
• Assist with making water taps and installing water meters.
• Assist with repair of water distribution main line and service line leaks.
• Assist with performing other water distribution system and sanitary collection system repairs as directed by the Construction Crew Foreman.
• Perform on-call duty for emergency repairs when needed.

Education And Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience performing manual labor required.
• Prior construction and/or mechanical experience preferred.
• Valid Driver License with Safe Driving Record.

Other Skills/Abilities

• Have a mechanical background and skills maintaining mechanical systems and tools.
• Team player committed to working in a quality environment.
• Maintain good attendance.
• Ability to work overtime is mandatory.
• Pass post-offer drug screen and physical.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
• Lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
• Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limbed coordination.
• Requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.
• Requires excellent physical stamina and endurance.
