About the Role

HVAC Replacement with Ultra-High Efficient Units is Budderfly’s most recent initiative to save energy at customer sites. This role ensures these HVAC units are properly maintained and retain optimal control parameters, vital to the program’s success. As a key player on the Montana team, you will help maintain peak efficiency for Budderfly’s HVAC fleet.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continued excellent operation of Budderfly HVAC Units within your geographic area, including maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems and equipment.
• Identify maintenance risks on HVAC/R equipment.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC/R systems.
• Complete commissioning checks of HVAC Units to ensure continued, efficient operation, including verifying HVAC RTU controller configurations and mechanical operation.
• Provide physical maintenance to Budderfly HVAC Units, such as changing filters, cleaning coils, inspecting/replacing belts, and identifying mechanical failures.
• Clean, adjust, and repair systems, and perform warranty services.
• Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain daily logs and records of all functions in the Company work order system.
• Ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Comply with service standards, work instructions, and customer requirements.
• Assist with customer queries.
• On-call is not required.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a service technician on HVAC/R systems.
• EPA 608 Certification (required).
• HVAC Controls experience; familiarity with Lennox Core Controllers and Carrier SystemVu controllers is a benefit.
• Ability to recognize control and mechanical issues before they escalate.
• Enthusiasm for continuous learning, both technically and professionally.
• Desire to grow professionally beyond routine maintenance tasks.
• Commitment to shaping a developing team alongside fellow HVAC/R technicians.
• Customer- and safety-focused mindset.
• Ability to travel within Helena, MT, and surrounding areas.
• Flexibility to work some weekends.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative approach across organizational teams.

Budderfly provides a company truck and all necessary tools. A sign-on bonus is offered.

Pay

$30—$44 USD per hour. Compensation is based on experience, skillset, qualifications, and location.
