About the role
Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence Business Area is seeking a Service Engineer in their Syracus, NY location. This role involves working with advanced technologies to ensure customer success by maintaining and optimizing high-precision Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain CMM systems at customer locations.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software-related system issues and implement corrective actions.
- Provide technical training and operational guidance to customers on machine operation and preventative maintenance.
- Accurately document service activities and submit detailed service reports.
- Partner cross-functionally with technical support and engineering teams to resolve complex issues.
- Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction while managing service schedules effectively.
- Travel throughout the upstate NY territory (up to 100%) to support customer needs.
- Lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted and work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including overtime as required to meet customer needs.
Requirements
- Must be located in Syracuse or Utica, NY.
- Technical degree (Technical School, Associate, or Bachelor’s) in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, Mechatronics, or related field, or Military Technical School training and experience.
- Hands-on experience using hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting capabilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in dynamic environments.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to regularly lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Prior experience with CMM equipment or industrial automation is preferred.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Must be able to work in an industrial environment and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
