Join MSHS Pacific Power Group as a Service Engineer, Engines - Level 2 to provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and repair services for diesel, gas, and industrial engine systems. About the role

You will serve as a primary technical resource for customers, technicians, and internal teams, diagnosing and repairing diesel, gas, and industrial engine systems while maintaining detailed service documentation and coordinating with engineering, operations, and parts teams.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and support diesel, gas, and industrial engine systems.
  • Serve as a primary technical resource for customers, technicians, and internal teams on advanced engine service issues.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed service reports, repair documentation, work orders, and customer records.
  • Coordinate service activities with engineering, operations, parts, and field service teams.
  • Provide technical guidance to support efficient and timely service execution.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, and service planning activities.
  • Track service requests, parts usage, repair timelines, and project documentation.
  • Support internal audits, quality initiatives, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance service quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize diagnostic software, service management systems, and technical documentation to support repairs and service operations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Diesel Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automotive Technology, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience will be considered).
  • 3–6+ years of experience servicing diesel, gas, industrial, marine, or power generation engine systems.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience performing engine repairs, maintenance, and component replacement.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, engineering drawings, and service documentation.
  • Proficiency using diagnostic software, service management systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 85%, including overnight travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting marine propulsion, power generation, or heavy industrial equipment.
  • Experience with OEM engine diagnostic software and electronic troubleshooting tools.
  • Previous field service experience supporting customer sites.

Pay

$32.00 - $37.00 per hour (based on experience).

Schedule

Full-Time, Non-Exempt. Travel up to 85%, including overnight travel as needed.
