Service Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Support the transition of newly commissioned BESS projects into long-term operations and maintenance.
• Cook up the closeout of engineering action items and commissioning punch-list activities following project delivery.
• Cook up as a technical resource for field service teams, service managers, authorized service partners, and customers throughout the operational life of projects.
• Review and validate project documentation, including engineering drawings, design specifications, block diagrams, and system interfaces to ensure operational readiness.
• Provide advanced technical support for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of field issues.
• Develop corrective action plans, work instructions, and technical guidance for field personnel and service partners.
• Interpret single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, switching procedures, and system documentation.
• Maintain expertise in BESS, PCS, PMS, PPC, and SCADA platforms.
• Review and validate system integration, project specifications, certifications, and augmentation activities throughout the operational lifecycle.
• Support bid and proposal teams by providing operational feedback and technical expertise for future projects.
• Capture lessons learned and collaborate with engineering and product development teams to improve system performance and reliability.
• Cook up annual performance testing and prepare technical reports for customers.
• Develop technical service bulletins and lead RCA investigations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and codes, including NFPA 855, UL9540, UL9540A, UL1973, UL1642, UL1741 SA, and other relevant regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or utility-scale energy storage.
• Strong understanding of: BESS, Power Systems, PCS, PMSS, SCADA and control systems.
• Experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy or energy storage projects.
• Knowledge of power generation, grid integration, and electricity markets.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and customer-facing skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50%.
• IDEALLY candidate must be in Jacksonville, FL.
