Responsibilities
- Electrical Code Knowledge: Have a working understanding and knowledge of current electrical principles, codes, regulations, and best practices, ensuring compliance and delivery of excellent quality workmanship.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Have the ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, engineered lighting control drawings, and all related technical drawings to plan and execute accurate electrical installations.
- Electrical System Installations: Perform skilled electrical installations, including but not limited to setting of switchgear, transformers, and panels, ensuring compliance with governing agencies and national electrical codes.
- Loading Controls: Perform lighting control installations and programming while ensuring compliance with drawings, governing agencies, and codes.
- Job Layout: Plan and coordinate layouts utilizing reflected ceiling plans. Use laser for lighting layouts, suspension points, and conduit racks.
- Electrical Troubleshooting, Repairs, & Maintenance: Have the ability to identify, diagnose with testing devices, and repair electrical issues in various systems. Identify and implement preventative maintenance on electrical systems to prevent future issues.
- Team Leadership: Provide training, coaching, guidance, and mentorship to apprentices and other team members to meet project expectations with quality and efficiency.
- Strong Communication Skills: Provide daily and as-needed job progress updates, including challenges and changes, to foreman and/or supervisor in a timely manner. Professionally communicate with clients, as necessary, regarding electrical needs, answer questions, and provide project updates, or connect supervisor for further information.
- Project, Material, & Equipment Planning: Proactively foresee, plan, and communicate material and equipment needs for upcoming phases of work.
- Safety: Maintain and work with a “safety first” approach to all work while remaining in compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and standards. Immediately report any potential hazards or dangers to supervisor.
- Equipment Operation: Have the knowledge and ability to utilize scissor lifts, boom lifts, and single man-lifts, etc. in order to perform assigned work.
Qualifications
- 5-7 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN ELECTRICAL FIELD
- Has a current general electrician certification
- Owns all hand tools related to a Journeyman’s needs
- Valid Driver License
- Reliable transportation
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a team
- Great attitude
- OSHA 30 Card
