What You Will Do
- Maintains application and network security, and monitors network infrastructure.
- Provides instruction and advice to staff members from external departments.
- Communicates directly with vendors to resolve problems.
- Installs and maintains PC/workstation software and hardware.
- Generates and maintains appropriate documentation, and tracks and reports progress on all active projects.
- Schedules, sets up, and troubleshoots audio-visual equipment.
- Manages application and network security by maintaining user accounts and network access privileges.
- Maintains asset records, monitors licensing and distribution of software, and assists with the evaluation of new products.
- Evaluates hardware and software function, performance, and utilization issues.
- Troubleshoots problems and initiates corrective action.
- Provides Level-1 Service Desk support to FRMC system users.
- Provides technical assistance, training, and ongoing support to fellow Information Services staff, and users of FRMC systems.
- Establishes appropriate procedures for system utilization.
- Communicates ideas; understands and interprets other's ideas; demonstrates courtesy, consideration, and patience.
What You Will Need
- Average of 2 years of equivalent career experience or an Associate’s Degree in a related field.
- Hardware certification of any type, or Microsoft Windows and/or Microsoft Office certification (a plus).
- Willingness, ability, and availability to attend training as requested by supervisor or manager.
- Knowledge of and ability to install, support, and train others in the proper use and care of various computer-related equipment.
- Knowledge of and ability to install, support, and train others in the proper use of various desktop applications, data storage and reporting methods, software utilities and tools, and principles of information management.
- Ability to grasp new and technical concepts quickly, and stay current with technology.
- Initiative and the ability to work independently in a stressful environment.
- Result-oriented, with strong leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
- Ability to generate and maintain necessary documentation.
- Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident-free work place.
- Compliance with Medical Center and departmental policies and procedures, and a working knowledge of Medical Center emergency codes.
- Compliance with applicable OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and the ability to utilize proper personal protective equipment.
- Compliance with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.
