About the role
The Service Consultant is responsible for the delivery, pick-up, maintenance, cleaning, and quality control of the Company’s medical equipment. This role ensures products comply with infection control procedures and government regulations while providing 24/7 delivery, pick-up, and service support for customer accounts in a timely and professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Prepare medical equipment, with appropriate documentation, for delivery to customer facilities and patients.
- Load and unload delivered medical equipment at customer facilities and returned equipment at the company’s service center.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, providing excellent customer service.
- Perform critical care medical equipment placements, including technical in-service training for medical staff on product function and use; potential assistance in patient transfer.
- Manage patient and hospital experiences with company products through regular rounding activities, documenting actions appropriately.
- Use a hand-held device to complete on-site deliveries and pick-ups, providing documentation to customers.
- Ensure accurate location of company equipment on-site and facilitate locating misplaced equipment at customer facilities.
- Drive a company fleet vehicle (van or box truck) for deliveries and pick-ups.
- Troubleshoot equipment and make minor repairs using hand tools; assist with preventative maintenance.
- Participate in service activities, including collections, inspections, service calls, and demos within the service center.
- Demonstrate Arjo core values in daily activities.
- Maintain vehicle appearance through regular cleaning and ensure routine vehicle maintenance is completed with records maintained.
- Clean and disinfect medical equipment using appropriate cleaners and solvents, performing quality control checks.
- Adhere to work and safety instructions, meeting performance standards defined by management.
- Conform to, support, and enforce all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including 5S activities, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Adhere to the attendance policy, including scheduled and unscheduled shifts, break periods, and proper use of vacation, personal, and sick time.
- Participate in on-call rotation and holiday work requirements to provide 24/7 coverage.
- Engage in reasonable work activities as assigned by management, including special initiatives and programs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of customer-facing service experience.
- Distribution or field operations experience preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet Motor Vehicle Report review/inspection qualifications.
- Ability to meet Department of Transportation (DOT) physical requirements and maintain recertification as required.
- Willingness and ability to complete RotoProne certification within the first year of employment.
- Ability to travel up to 30%, including by train, plane, or car.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and participate in on-call schedules.
Skills
- Intermediate experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); ERP systems and database knowledge preferred; experience with handheld and desktop computing devices.
- Strong organizational and communication skills (oral and written); ability to articulate ideas effectively.
- Solid interpersonal skills to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Strong customer service and hands-on technical skills; experience using hand tools for troubleshooting and minor repairs.
- Demonstrated ability to clean and disinfect equipment while adhering to quality control processes.
- Ability to follow and comply with standard work processes/procedures.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to learn new technologies and apply them to current environments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound business judgment, and deal effectively with employees and external business contacts.
- Ability to complete all designated training programs required for the position.

Pay
Base pay: $22–$24 per hour, plus overtime and variable compensation.
Schedule
- Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business and customer needs.
- On-call rotation required.
- Work schedules subject to change based on service center needs.
